Historic Recognition: GA State Assembly Adopts Resolution Honoring Punjabi Language

Today March 18th , 2025 GA State Assembly adopted a House resolution 430 recognizing Punjabi Language (ਪੰਜਾਬੀ , पंजाबी , پنجابلنگویج ) and recognizing the contributions of Local Sikh and Punjabi Community members.

Punjabi is a language native to the North parts of South-East Asia region, spoken by over 600 million people, 9th most widely spoken language primarily in India and Pakistan, and also by diaspora communities worldwide. It is written in two scripts: Gurmukhi in India and Shahmukhi in Pakistan.
